Monica's Quilts

Mom made this quilt for Samantha. I love the colors and pattern. Gabby is covering up an appliqued Holly Hobby type girl. But trust me, it's cute.

I made this about 9 years ago. It is a log cabin pattern with all the red fabric grouped together. Log cabins are fast and easy. This is king size quilt, the biggest I have ever made.

Brooke made this for Gabby. I love the colors and the flowers.

This is a quilt that I started about 5 years ago and finished a few months ago. I had all the 9 patch pieces cut and sewn into strips, but that is all I did 5 years ago. Finishing it didn't take too long, but I am not terribly pleased with it. The picture actually makes it look better than what it is. It still needs to be quilted.

I love how this quilt turned out. Mom sent me the fabric and the yellow brick road pattern a few years ago. I made it around Christmas time and I just love it. I love the fabric, the pattern (who has not yet used the Yellow Brick Road pattern? It is so quick and easy, even if you make the same major mistake that mom and I made). It also still needs to be quilted.

I made this 11 or 12 years ago. I am still a big fan of the Morning Star pattern.

Mom made this for Ben. I love the contrast between the bright yellow and the dark blue and the pinwheels. I love this quilt.

Mom made this for Ben. It is flannel and he used it as a bedspread.

Mom made this flannel quilt for Samantha.

Mom made this for Gabby. I love all of the pink and the scalloped edges.

Mom and Michelle made this for Samantha, but Benjamin now claims it has his own.
And again, I love the yellow and blue.

Gabby insisted on being the quilt model in some of the pictures.

Mom made this for my 3rd wedding anniversary. So thoughtful. I love the fans. And I love the quilting. It also has an antique feel to it, both in the choice of fabric and the fact that it has been used so much.

And there you have it. I am pretty sure I missed some along the way, but I would say that is a pretty darn good collection. Thanks for the quilts everyone.

I still feel major regret that the blanket I made for Gabby was made so terribly. even if I would have just chosen a different batting it would be better.

I also have a red log cabin quilt that you made for me that looks like the one you have. I will have to post a picture of it.

You have a lot of cute quilts. Probably my favorite is the ps I love you one. It has such lovely colors.

Thanks for posting. I had even forgotten about some of the quilts. It is so much fun to see them again.
I am glad that your kids enjoy them, and I still love the quilt that Brooke made for Gabby. It is so cute!

Your quilts are great. You were willing to try new things. You worked hard on them and you will be proud of them the rest of your life.
We will have to get those quilts quilted!
Keep up the good work.

Wow, we all really do have such a great collection of quilts. I think it is funny that we don't make them for ourselves though. We give all the ones we make away! I remember making that yellow and blue quilt for Sam. That seems like forever ago. At the time I absolutely loved it, now I see that is it a bit dated (but that tends to happen). It will be interesting to see in 10 years if we all still like the bright, bold and busy fabrics and patterns that we do now.

But seriously, will polka dot ever go out of fashion? I don't think so.
