My brother and his wife had their baby girl, Ayla, a couple of weeks
ago. I really love Patty Sloniger's Bella Butterfly line of fabric. I
made Ayla a crib size blanket, tag blanket, bib, and butterfly carseat
toy.
We've really enjoyed(and still use frequently) the minky backed blanket that Michelle made for Easton when he was born.
I wanted the minky stripes to run lengthwise on the back of the blanket so I had quite a bit of extra fabric, so I made a tag blanket with the scraps.
I used some of the leftover minky and part of a fat quarter to make a bib. I used one of Easton's store bought bibs as the pattern for my bib.
I used this tutorial from Sew Mama Sew to make a butterfly carseat toy. I chose not to put a face on since it will probably get gnawed on quite a bit. Instead of using a chip bag for the crinkly wings, I used an empty package from Costco baby wipes.
I also started on a butterfly doll using this pattern from Bit of Whimsy for everything but the wings. I will be using the butterfly wings from the carseat toy pattern.

Show and Tell
Chevron Doll Blanket from scraps. What I learned: Busy fabrics don't work well with chevron.
Bags to carry their toys around, using the embroidery feature on Mom's sewing machine. Jealous?
Little zipper bag for some of Abby's toys, using adorable scraps from Mom.
