Receiving Blanket
Tutorial here! Mom and I made this tonight (mostly Mom made it). Don't you all wish you could have stayed a week longer!
I think even I could do this!
We all know that I'm not much of a seamstress. A bag here, an apron or two there... That's about it. However, while perusing through make it and love it tonight, I'm dying to dig through my closet and spruce up some of my skirts. (i love the fabric for this skirt. she said she got the skirt at ross for 8 bucks...i think i may have to hunt it down!)

Free Halloween Tutorial
Here is a link to the Halloween Countdown Wall Hanging tutorial from Riley Blake. I love everything about it, but probably won't get it made this year.

Vintage Brooke
I found this dress when I was moving and going through the baby clothes boxes and every time I see it, I go back to the time when I made it. I started it when Claire was about two months old. It took me a while to make, since I thought reading the pattern was like reading a foreign language, and I didn't have much time, with a baby and all (though I laugh at the idea that I was stretched for time back when I had only one kid). I hand stitched the circle design on the dress, because I had seen something similar to it on a cover of a baby magazine, and I loved it.
And you know what? I still love it. I decided, as I was looking at it this past week, that it is probably my favorite thing that I have ever made. Because it turned out exactly how I envisioned it, it is still cute six years later, both Claire and Morgan have worn it as babies and it has not fallen apart (which says a little something about my construction skills on this dress). I stitched on 'especially for Claire', but then by the time I finished making and embroidering the dress, it barely fit her. So she only wore it a couple of times and Morgan wore it more than Claire did.
Oh well.
