Another Flower
Made this barrett for Mike's "girlfriend" Ella. She turned 4 so we made it for her birthday party. I think I'll make one of every color for Abby, because she loves the purple one that we made and wears it everyday (whether it matches her outfit or not).

Reverse Applique Quilt
So here is the finished quilt I made for my friends baby (who is now five months old- it took me that long). I like the look and process of the reverse applique with the ragged edge, but my quilting job makes the quilt look too baggy. Oh well. But I actually felt like I did an okay job with the binding. Baby steps.
My favorite part is the script name on the quilt. My least favorite part of it is the lack of quilting on it. I didn't do a lot because I didn't want to mess it up. Oh well, it's the thought that counts, right?

Foam Activities
After looking at all the fun Brooke's girls have with foam stickies, I decided to give them a try. My kids had a blast, although I had to do most of the "work." Oh, and Abby tried to eat the elephant's ear. Sure hope they're not toxic!

Stupid Things
I don't think I would characterize myself as absent-minded in general. I am actually really good about thinking out and remembering little details. Most of the time. But then sometimes I make major, major brain toots. Like the time I forgot to turn in a final at BYU. And then the other time I forgot to turn in a final, at BYU, a year later. Or the time I showed up a day early for Claire's first of day Kindergarten. You know stuff like that. I am pretty sure none of you have done any of those things.
Well, I have another one, that I am willing to bet none of you have done. Today I machine quilted about 90% of a baby quilt before it dawned on my that I was missing a layer. A whole layer of fabric. I had laid it out, safety-pinned the layers to prepare it for quilting, and then, not until I was almost done with the machine quilting did I realize I left one layer out. Major Brain Toot.
I am trying a reverse applique design on the quilt, so in addition to the top and bottom layer of fabric, and the batting, I needed another layer of fabric under the top layer, so that after I machine quilt it, I cut away the top layer to make the reverse applique. Of course I didn't put in this layer underneath, so I have to unpick it all and start all over again. GRRRR. Really, how can I be so absent-minded sometimes?

The Cowgirl Bag
For our Family Reunion:
These are the bags that the kids will receive at the reunion. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to attach a clip to the flower so that they can either clip it to their bag or their hair. If you all really want to help, I'll bring the supplies for the flowers and we can make them together at Mom's. Sewing is always more fun with others!
My quick applique job. Don't look to close! The boys will have different red fabric as I thought red polka dots might be too girly for them.

Finished
I used this tutorial from the moda bake shop. My first time working with plastic, zippers, magnetic snaps and first time sewing binding on curves (which didn't go so well).

Flower Power
I found a fabric button cover kit at Walmart for $2.00 (it contained 4 buttons). So I pulled out my flower pattern and made Abby a hair accessory. I'm planning on making all the girls one for our reunion. I'll post pictures when I finally get some done. They'll coordinate with the cowgirl bags that I'm making.

Finds
Here are some tutorials I have recently discovered that are just begging to be made:
Do any of you follow SYTYC? I do and I think, so far, this is my favorite season of crafters.

This won lasts weeks theme of bath time. I think it looks like a fun and easy craft to make with my girls.
Here is her tutorial.
