Quilts, Quilts, Quilts (or as Mom would say "Guilts, Guilts, Guilts)

Mom's in town and we decided to give you all a guided quilt tour of the many quilts I have around my house (or that I have given to others).

First, we have the quilt that Mom and I made my senior year in high school (12 years ago).  I used it all through my college years, until I was married.  I still love those fabrics, even if they aren't quite in style anymore.  Not bad for my first quilt.

After originally posting, I remembered that I did make a quilt in college.  Brooke let me use her sewing machine and I had it quilted by professionals at a quilt store in Utah.  It is actually Tom's favorite because it is all flannels and it is more "manly" than any other quilt we own.

And Monica made me this quilt when I graduated from BYU.  My face-wash bleached the top and bottom of the blanket (proof that I used this quilt a lot).

Next, we have the quilt that Mom made me for my wedding.  Purple is my favorite and I love the constrasting colors.  Mom hand appliqued the grapes, vines, and leaves.
I pieced this quilt for Mikey using the yellow brick road pattern and winnie the pooh fabrics.  It was one of my first quilts after college.  Mom machine quilted it for me.

One of my all time favorite quilts is this one that Mom made for Mikey.  I based his blue and red room off this quilt and it lays across the bottom of his bed.  Again, I love the contrasting colors.
I made this quilt for my nephew Tyler using Retta Warehime's Jack and Jill book.  I hand quilted the entire thing while watching way too much TV.  One of my favorites that I've made.
This one I made for my neice Morgan.  I hear that she loves it and won't let it out of her site.  I hand quilted most of it, and then machine quilted the borders because I was running out of time (baby was coming).

I made this one for Abby (if you couldn't tell).  Mom machine quilted it for me and it hangs on my nursery wall.

Mom also made this accompanying wall hanging (all hand appliqued -- she's so talented with that).

Mom also made this quilt for Abby.  After I saw the one Mom made for Morgan, I put in a request for the same one for Abby.  The coloring is much better in person.

And finally, using the same pattern as above and scraps from old quilts, I made this for my nephew Luke.  I machine quilted this one and it went much faster.

And some accompanying doll quilts for Luke's two older sisters.

That is quite the collection. Nice job. I am too impatient to hand quilt, but hand quilted quilts sure look nice. I also have a very nice collections of quilts that were made by you, Brooke, and Mom. Thanks everyone.

Ah, so many guilts (i noticed mom changed the title on that post). I can't believe you have made so many. You do such a nice job, too. Morgan's still looks so nice and she uses it every day- she still calls out for her blanket any time she gets hurt.

So fun looking through all of your quilts. I'm excited to pull out all of the quilts that Wileen has made for our family. (of course i haven't made any!)

I LOVE Morgan's quilt!!
