So here is Abby's quilt that I'm making. I just don't love it.
Will it look better with the right border? Or should I just pick it apart and make more of these:

I like the pattern, I just don't love the fabrics I found (at least not together).

I say, if you aren't loving the quilt, go for the bags, because the appliques are really cute.
I almost feel like I shouldn't comment, not being a "Harker girl" and all, but I found that you guys have this blog ,and I love it! So I'm putting in my two cents, anyway.
I think the quilt is adorable, but the problem I'm seeing is that it's too purple. Maybe if you took a color from one of the pictures for a border around the whole thing? Or maybe even two colors and two borders?
Or maybe the red bird stands out from the rest too much?
You never know, even if it doesn't turn out perfect, Abby may love it. But if you don't like it enough to finish it, the bags would be really cute, too.
Okay, thanks for the advice, I think I'm going to pull it apart and make the bags. I'll find something else to make for abby!
